FAQ’s
An annual clean and inspection should be done on your solar system to keep it preforming at optimum levels. But I would recommend visually checking the solar panels and any sign of debris or anything that will effect the performance. When cleaning the panels do not use any harsh chemicals, a soft bush and some water is all that is required. If you are not confident about accessing your roof or solar array the team at Streamline Solar can put you on our annual maintenance contract and get it sorted for you.

New Zealand is the perfect place to be harvesting and reusing energy or simply just benefiting from the cost savings that solar installations can bring. Most locations around New Zealand enjoy about 2,000 hours of sunshine each year and many receive more.
Your location and seasonal changes can effect how much power your system will produce. The orientation and angle of the panels can also have an effect on annual energy production. Placing panels in a north-facing direction is optimal, however placing panels on a west or east facing roof will still produce a substantial amount of power. In New Zealand, panels will not perform well if they face to the south. The tilt angle is also important to maximise the energy created from your panels. Most New Zealand homes have a roof pitch of 20° to 30° which in most situations is perfect. A minimum tilt of 5° to 10° is recommended to ensure self-cleaning by rainfall to help keep the system running at its best. A regular cleaning schedule is also recommended.
